This page explains what data the Cortland Crush Baseball journal collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to change or delete it. It applies to readers, tip senders and anyone who writes in with a scorebook correction.

When you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you include one, and the message itself. Photos and scorebook files you attach are stored the same way. We also log basic technical data: browser type, device type, approximate region, referring page and the pages you open on this site.
We use cookies and similar storage to keep the site working and to understand which recaps and guides get read. Analytics events cover page views, scroll depth and outbound clicks on our own links. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site will still load, though some preferences may reset.
Reader messages are used to verify tips, confirm game details and follow up on corrections. Technical data helps us fix broken pages and see which coverage readers actually want. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your message to build advertising profiles.
A small number of processors handle parts of this work on our behalf: our hosting provider, our email and form delivery service, and our analytics tool. They only see the data needed to run those tasks and are bound by their own confidentiality terms. We do not pass reader data to anyone else unless the law requires it.
Tips and correction emails stay in our inbox while the related story is active, then move to an archive we review once a season. Analytics records are kept in aggregate form. If you ask us to delete a message, we remove it from the active inbox and the archive.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, request a correction, ask for deletion, or withdraw consent for analytics at any time. Readers in the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR, and California readers have comparable rights under the CCPA. Write to us and we will respond within a reasonable window.
Send privacy questions, data requests or correction notes to the editorial team. We read every message and reply when a request needs action.
Recaps and spotlights are written from first-hand attendance or verified box scores, and recruitment notes are confirmed with coaches before publishing. We do not publish fake endorsements, invented quotes or guaranteed outcomes. If a score, standing or alumni note turns out to be wrong, tell us and we will correct it and mark the update at the bottom of the post.
