SHERRILL, NY – The Crush fell to the Sherrill Silversmiths 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Cortland jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st and extended their lead to 2-0 after the top of the 3rd. Yet, Sherrill rallied hitting three home runs in the contest and scoring in six consecutive innings.
Eric Giarnese, Owen Podolec, Shea Donovan and Jake Freed each had an RBI in the contest. Podolec led the way with two hits while Giarnese, Donovan, Freed, Jack Coogan, Evan O’Rourke, Ryan Wynn and Zach Sperger each recorded one hit. Sperger’s hit to left field in the 9th inning was the first of his Crush career.
Cortland (7-3) will head to face the Syracuse Spartans at Onondaga Community College on Sunday, June 18 at 2 p.m.
