CORTLAND, NY – The Crush extended their win streak to two after topping the Sherrill Silversmiths 12-11 in a long winded yet back and forth scoring game. Cortland had 12 runs on 10 hits and was very active on the basepaths with a plethora of steals.
Louis Percival continued his historic start to the season going 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI while also reaching base via a walk. Lucas Orlovitz had a day going 2-for-3 and also made a few fine plays at the hot corner.
Aaron Izquerido and Max Cairo had two RBIs while Sean Moynihan and Jake Freed each drove in one run. Cairo and Nathyan Ruehs each collected their first hits as a member of the Crush.
Cortland utilized six pitchers on the mound which was highlighted by Eric Fields collecting a win for the second straight day and Angelo Agro picking up his first save of the season.
Cortland (5-1) will hit the road for its first away game as the team will face the Syracuse Salt Cats on Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at Onondoga Community College.
