Crush vs Salt Cats – Recap – 6-2 

Syracuse NY – The Crush fell to the Syracuse Salt Cats by a final score of 6-2 on Tuesday night from Onondaga Community College. 

Cortland was able to get on the board first in the top of the second inning and it all started when Joe Yovino reached on an error with two outs. From there Grayson Saltzer was hit by a pitch on his shoulder and Joe Manesiotis walked to load the bases for Zach Masnikoff. 

Masnikoff delivered with an RBI single to plate Yovino and Carson Molinaroli was hit by a pitch as well to give the Crush a 2-0 lead. 

Syracuse responded with a 2 run fifth inning to tie the ballgame before taking the lead with a big 3 run inning in the seventh and they added on another insurance run in the eighth to make it a final score of 6-2 in their favor. 

Cortland’s starter Joe Derienzo pitched well going six innings allowing just 2 runs and racking up 5 strikeouts to increase his season total to 18 through 19 innings pitched. 

Cortland is back in action with a double header from Noyes park in Sherrill with first pitch of game one scheduled to be thrown at 2:00.
