Cortland NY – The Crush find the win column for the first time in 2024 with a nail biting 7-6
victory over the Rochester Ridgemen.
The Ridgemen struck first, scoring 1 run in the top of the second inning. The Crush responded
with a huge inning in the bottom of the second scoring 7 runs on 5 hits. Ryne McKinney and

the dish as Max Atkinson reached base on a walk and Carson Cherry was hit by a pitch. With
the bases loaded Tony Humphrey was also hit by a pitch and Saltzer came in to score. Two
batters later Jake Freed smacked home a pair of runs with a two RBI single. The inning was
capped off with another RBI single this time off the bat of Carson Molinaroli.
Rochester would respond two innings later with a 3 run inning in the 4th and would score
another 2 runs in the top of the 8th to make it a 7 to 6 ballgame.
Crush left hander Abixael Sosa came on in relief in the 8th inning and was able to close things
out pitching 2 scoreless innings and nailing down the save to secure the Crush a 7 to 6 victory.
With the win Cortland moves to 1-1 on the season and will take things on the road for the first
time tomorrow with a matchup versus the Syracuse Spartans.
