Crush vs Ridgemen DH- Results 1 – 2 | 2 – 4

CORTLAND, NY – The Crush fell to the Rochester Ridgemen 2-1 in extra innings in game one of their doubleheader on Monday afternoon.

It was an absolute pitcher’s duel for both sides as Vince Dolcemaschio went six innings, allowing three hits, no earned runs, with two walks, six strikeouts. Marrow went seven innings for Rochester allowing just one run.

Nick Mahar went 2-for-2 while Jake Freed delivered the Crush’s sole run on a rope into the left field corner that gave Cortland the 1-0 lead early in the ball game.

The Ridgemen scored in the 7th and 8th inning to steal a 2-1 win away from the Crush.

Cortland (10-7) will take on the Ridgemen in game two of the doubleheader with first pitch being at 4:30 p.m.

Max Cairo and Zack Sperger led the way each collecting two hits in the game. Ryan Wynn, Jake Freed, and Lucas Orlovitz each had one hit while Wynn and Freed each drove in one.

On the mound, Sal D’Anna went four innings on two earned runs, on three hits, four walks, and four strikeouts. Eric Fields was credited with the loss while Angelo Agro pitched the final inning of the game.

Cortland (10-8) will head to Onondaga Community College on Wednesday, June 28 at 7 p.m.
