CORTLAND, NY – The Crush got back on track beating the Olean Oilers 11-1 in game one of today’s doubleheader.
Cortland totaled 11 hits while Sean Desjardins, Ryan Wynn, and Evan O’Rourke each recorded two. Shea Donovan hit the first home run for the Crush and tied Desjardins with a team-leading three RBI. Jake Freed and Sean Moynihan each had two RBIs while Eric Giarnese drove in one.
Chase Cummins was flawless on the mound pitching a complete game allowing just three hits, one earned run, one walk, and striking out 11.
Cortland (9-6) will face Olean in game two of the doubleheader beginning around 5:30.
CORTLAND, NY – The Crush completed the sweep over Olean with a thrilling 8-7 win walk off win in the 8th inning.
Cortland continued to mash collecting 12 hits in the second game of the doubleheader. Eric Giarnese, Jake Freed, and Lucas Orlovitz each had two hits while Freed and Orlovitz each drove in a pair. Giarnese, Nick Mahar, Naythen Ruehs, and Owen Podolec each recorded one RBI.
Derek Woods went five innings allowing two runs, zero earned, two hits, on three walks, and striking out one. John Igoe, Eric Fields, and Brendan Karadenes each saw time with Karadenes collecting the win.
Cortland (10-6) will head to face the Horseheads Hitmen in a doubleheader with game one beginning at 4:30 p.m.
