DANSVILLE, NY – The Crush extended their win streak to three games after topping the Gliders 4-3 in game one of today’s doubleheader.

Cortland scored on a wild pitch to grab an early 1-0 lead yet had its big inning in the 6th where Nick Ianniello had an RBI double and Andrew Filippeli had a clutch two run double.

Eric Giarnese and Ryan Wynn each tallied two hits and Lucas Orlovitz and Evan O’Rourke each had one.

Cregg Scherrer was great on the bump earning the win pitching six innings on four hits, three earned runs, two walks, and eight strikeouts. He was in a groove and did not allow a hit until the fifth inning. Scott Scherrer and newcomer Garrett Montgomery each saw time in the final inning with the latter earning the save.

Cortland (13-8) will play the Gliders in game two beginning around 5 p.m.

DANSVILLE, NY – The Crush completed the doubleheader sweep over Dansville with an 8-5 win.

Aaron Izquerido was scorching at the plate going 4-for-4 with three steals and an RBI. Evan O’Rourke, Nick Mahar, and Sean Moynihan each had two hits in the contest.

Jack Coogan flashed the leather in right field making two fantastic diving catches on the day.

Derek Woods had a fantastic outing on the mound going four no hit innings allowing one unearned run, four walks, and two strikeouts while earning the win. Noah Bromberg and Garrett Montgomery each pitched out of the bullpen.

Cortland (14-8) will face Sherrill tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Noyes Park.
