Crush back on track vs. Salt Cats – Recap – 12-3

CORTLAND, NY – The Crush got back on track with a phenomenal 12-3 win over the Syracuse Salt Cats in which all nine starters reached base including a remarkable four triples and 17 hits in the contest.

Jake Blozy, Evan O’Rourke, and Jake Freed led the way each collecting three hits in the game. Jack Coogan had two hits while six Crush players recorded one hit.

O’Rourke, Freed, and Ty Clifton each drove in a pair of runs today and Clifton slapped his first hit as a member of the Crush with a triple. Blozy, Coogan, Tyler Bak, Nick Mahar, and Sean Desjardins each had one RBI.

On the mound Chase Cummins went four innings allowing eight hits and three earned runs while punching out eight. Eric Fields, Brendan Karadenes, and Nick Ianniello combined for four innings of relief while allowing just one run and four hits.

The Crush came out firing scoring four in the 1st inning before tacking on one in the 2nd and three in the 4th. The Cortland offense was shining all day and the team scored in six of eight innings at bat.

Cortland (4-1) will conclude their opening homestand on Saturday, June 10 at 3 p.m. against the Sherrill Silversmiths.
